Pedal Safe Boston joins the community in mourning the tragic death of Louisa Gag, a 36-year-old Boston resident and city transportation planner.
Shortly after 8:15 a.m. on July 9, Louisa was riding her bicycle on Tremont Street near Roxbury Crossing when she was struck by a truck. The driver remained at the scene, but Louisa was tragically pronounced dead. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
Louisa dedicated much of her career to serving Boston and improving transportation throughout the city. She was also a beloved daughter, family member, friend, and colleague whose loss is being felt across the community.
Whenever anyone loses their life on our streets, it is a tragedy. At only 36 years old, Louisa was far too young and had so much more life ahead of her. Pedal Safe Boston extends its deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and everyone grieving this heartbreaking loss.
